Over the central and southern Windward Islands, partly cloudy skies with some scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Elsewhere, fair to partly cloudy skies with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability ahead of an approaching tropical wave will cause some scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, over the southern half of the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.

Another tropical wave located over the central Atlantic is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h. This wave is expected to affect our region from late Thursday into Friday.

…LARRY STRENGTHENS AS IT MOVES QUICKLY WESTWARD THROUGH THE EASTERN TROPICAL ATLANTIC…

At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Larry, was located near latitude 12.3 degrees north, longitude 27.6 degrees west. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph or 85 km/h with higher gusts. Larry is moving toward the west near 22 mph or 35 km/h. The system is forecast to become a hurricane on Thursday. At present, Larry remains far east of the Eastern Caribbean region and is expected to remain over the open Atlantic.
