TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
A tropical wave located about 300 miles east of the Lesser Antilles is moving westward near 23 mph or 37 km/h. This wave is expected to affect our region from this afternoon into Friday.

…LARRY BECOMES A HURRICANE OVER THE EASTERN TROPICAL ATLANTIC…
At 5:00 am today, the centre of Hurricane Larry was located near latitude 13.0 degrees north, longitude 32.3 degrees west. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 75 mph or 120 km/h with higher gusts. Steady to rapid strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days, and Larry is expected to become a major hurricane by Friday night. Larry is moving toward the west near 20 mph or 31 km/h. Larry is not expected to pose a direct threat to our region during the next five days.

Another tropical wave located over the far eastern tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h.
