FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Over the southern Windward Islands and areas further south, generally cloudy skies with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Elsewhere, fair to occasionally cloudy and hazy with a few light showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK  

A tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 23 mph or 37 km/h.

Another tropical wave just off the West African coast is moving westward at about 17 mph or 28 km/h.

At 5:00 am today, the centre of Hurricane Larry was located near latitude 16.3 degrees north, longitude 44.6 degrees west or about 1140 miles or 1830 kilometres east of the Leeward Islands. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 115 mph or 185 km/h, with higher gusts. Larry is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph or 26 km/h. Although Hurricane Larry does not pose a direct threat to the region, north-easterly swells generated by Larry are expected to reach the Lesser Antilles by Sunday.
