TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
Moisture and instability associated with Tropical Storm Peter will continue to cause cloudiness, showers and thunderstorms over the Leeward Islands during the forecast period.

At 5:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Storm Peter was located near latitude
19.1 north, longitude 59.5 west or about 245 miles or 390 kilometres east northeast of the northern Leeward Islands. Peter is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph or 22 km/h. On the forecast track, the centre of Peter is expected to pass north of the Leeward Islands early this week. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph or 85 km/h, with higher gusts. Interests in the northern Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico should continue to monitor the progress of this system.

At 5:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Storm Rose was located over the eastern tropical Atlantic near latitude 15.9 north, longitude 32.6 west. Rose is moving toward the northwest near 15 mph or 24 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph or 65 km/h, with higher gusts. Rose is expected to remain over the open Atlantic during the next five days.

A tropical wave located over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving
westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h. This system has a medium chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next five days.
