Weak low-level instability in the vicinity of the Lesser Antilles will cause a few showery periods, during the next 24 hours.

..Peter Now A Depression..

At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Tropical Depression Peter was located near latitude 20.5 north, longitude 65.0 west or about 160 miles or 260 kilometres north-northeast of San Juan Puerto Rico. Peter is moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph or 13 km/h. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Additional weakening is forecast over the next several days. Peter poses no direct threat to the Eastern Caribbean region.

At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Tropical Storm Rose was located near latitude 22.5 north, longitude 37.7 west. Rose is moving toward the northwest near 10 mph or 17 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph or 65 km/h, with higher gusts. Rose could decay into a tropical depression this evening. Rose is expected to remain over the open Atlantic.

A strong tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.  This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next five days.
