TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moist and unstable conditions over the Eastern Caribbean region will continue to cause occasional cloudiness and a few scattered showers over the Lesser Antilles today.

A tropical wave located about 350 miles or 560 kilometres east of the Windward Islands is moving toward the west northwest near 15 mph or 24 km/h. This system is expected to produce locally heavy rainfall, gusty winds and thunderstorms mainly over the central and northern portions of the Lesser Antilles from late tonight into tomorrow.

Environmental conditions are not conducive for further development of this system over the islands. Regardless of development, this system is expected to produce moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms over the islands tomorrow.

Showers over the past few days in Saint Lucia, has resulted in the soils being near or at saturation, therefore, any additional rainfall will increase the risk of flooding and landslides in areas prone to these hazards. Persons are advised to be extremely vigilant and cautious, during the passage of this system.
