At 5:00 am today the center of Potential Tropical Cyclone Two was centered near latitude 9.3 North, longitude 55.2 West or 420 miles or 680 km east of Trinidad. The system is moving toward the west near 23 mph (37 km/h). A westward or west-northwestward motion is expected through Thursday. On the forecast track, the system will pass near or over portions of the southern Windward Islands by tonight. Conditions appear conducive for development if the disturbance remains over water.

A severe weather advisory has been issued for Saint Lucia from midnight today Tuesday to 4:00 pm on Wednesday. The system is expected to produce rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches or 25 to 75 millimetres on the island. Tropical storm warnings have been issued for Trinidad and Tobago, and Grenada and its dependencies. Interests in the Windward Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this system.

A tropical wave located about 1200 miles east of the Windward Islands is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This system is forecast to interact with another tropical wave to its east over the next several days, and some gradual development is possible later this week while the overall system moves west-northwestward at around 15 mph across the central tropical Atlantic.
