FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Fair to partly cloudy with a few showers over the Leeward to central Windward Islands. Further south, fair skies becoming cloudy at times with a few showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

The Atlantic High Pressure system will generate a relatively drier and more stable atmosphere over the Eastern Caribbean region.  Patches of low level clouds, drifting a long a moderate easterly wind flow will result in a few showers across the region during the next 24 hours.

A broad area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave located over the central Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 10 mph or 17 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone development during the next five days, and is expected to be in the vicinity of the northern Leeward Islands during the weekend.

Another tropical wave is forecast to move off the west coast of Africa tonight. Some gradual development of this system is possible during the next five days, while it moves generally westward across the eastern Tropical Atlantic.
