TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Hurricane Fiona was located near latitude 20.1 North, longitude 69.8 West or 130 miles or 205 kilometres southeast of Grand Turk Island. Moist and unstable conditions trailing Hurricane Fiona, will continue to affect the extreme northern portion of the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.
Swells generated by Fiona are affecting the Leeward Islands, the northern Windward Islands, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, the Turks and Caicos Islands and the southeastern Bahamas.
A tropical wave located just to the east of the Windward Islands is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 kn/h. This wave is expected to affect the southern portion of the region tomorrow.
Another tropical waves located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles has a low chance of development during the next five days. This wave is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h.
