FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Generally cloudy with scattered showers, which may be heavy in some areas, and isolated thunderstorms over the Leeward Islands. Over the Windward Islands and areas further south, partly cloudy to cloudy at times with widely scattered showers, which may be heavy in some areas, and possibly isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moist and unstable conditions trailing a trough system will continue to cause cloudiness, showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Eastern Caribbean region during the next 24 hours.

A tropical wave located over the western Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h. This wave is expected to affect the Lesser Antilles on Wednesday.

Subtropical Storm Nicole forms over the northwest Atlantic. At 5:00 am today, the center of Subtropical Storm Nicole was located near latitude 25.5 degrees north, longitude 68.5 degrees west or about 555 miles or 895 kilometres east of the northwestern Bahamas. A tropical storm watch has been issued for the northwestern Bahamas. This system does not pose a threat to our region.

An area of low pressure located over the central north Atlantic has a medium chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next 5 days. This system is also not expected to pose a threat to our region.
