Generally cloudy with scattered showers, and isolated thunderstorms mainly over the Windward Islands. Elsewhere partly cloudy skies with a few scattered showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability trailing Tropical Storm Bret will generate some cloudiness and shower activity mainly over the windward islands during the forecast period.

…. Tropical Storm Cindy pauses its intensification….

At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Cindy was located near latitude 13.3 degrees north, longitude 49.3 degrees west. Cindy is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph or 26 km/h and this general motion is expected over the next few days. On the forecast track, the system is expected to remain well east and northeast of the northern Leeward Islands through early next week.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 50 mph or 85 km/h with higher gusts. Some slight strengthening is forecast over the next day or so, followed by a gradual weakening afterwards. Interests in the Lesser Antilles should monitor the progress of this system.

A tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h.
