TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Atlantic High Pressure System will generate light to moderate easterly winds across the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.
A plume of Saharan dust will continue to cause a reduction in visibility, shower activity and air quality over the Eastern Caribbean region, for the next few days.
Shower and thunderstorm activity has become limited in association with a small area of low pressure located about 900 miles or 1448 kilometres east of the Windward Islands. The system has a low chance of development during the next 48 hours and a tropical depression could still form during the next few days, while it moves westward across the Tropical Atlantic and Eastern Caribbean Sea. The system is expected to begin affecting our region from late Monday. Interests in Saint Lucia and the rest of the Windward Islands should monitor the progress of this system.
Two tropical waves located over the central and eastern Tropical Atlantic are both moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.
