FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Fair to partly cloudy and hazy, with a few showers over the Leeward and northern Windward Islands, becoming mostly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms from tonight. Over the southern Windward Islands and areas further south, partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, becoming mostly cloudy to overcast at times with scattered moderate to heavy showers, gusty winds and thunderstorms from tonight.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A plume of Saharan dust will continue to cause a reduction in air quality over the Eastern Caribbean region this afternoon into tonight.

A broad area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave, will affect the Lesser Antilles during the forecast period. This system has a low chance of development during the next seven days as it moves westward across the western tropical Atlantic and eastern Caribbean Sea. Regardless of development, locally heavy rainfall, gusty winds and thunderstorms are expected mainly over the Windward Islands from late tonight into tomorrow.

Two tropical waves located over the central and eastern Tropical Atlantic are moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h.
