A strong tropical wave will continue to produce an increase in cloudiness, moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles during the forecast period. This wave has a medium chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next 48 hours. Interests in the region should continue to monitor the progress of this system.
At 500 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression Six was located near latitude 16.8 North, longitude 52.9 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 15 mph or 24 km/h. Tropical Depression Six has likely already peaked, and will likely become post-tropical remnant low in 36 hours and dissipate by 48 hours if not sooner.
Another tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic, is associated with a broad area of low pressure and is moving westward near 10 mph or 17 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next 48 hours.
