FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Partly cloudy to cloudy with some scattered showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms over the Leeward Islands. Further south, fair to partly cloudy with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A light and variable wind regime is expected across the Lesser Antilles during the next few days.

The remnant low is moving toward the west-northwest and will continue to gradually weaken into a trough over the next couple of days. However, interests in the Leeward Islands should still continue to monitor the progress of this system.

At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Tropical Storm Franklin was located near latitude 15.8 North, Longitude 71.4 west or about 220 miles or 355 kilometres south-southwest of the Dominican Republic. Franklin is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph or 11 km/h. Franklin does not pose a threat to the Lesser Antilles.

A low pressure system associated with a tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h. This system has a medium chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next seven days.
