TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Atlantic High-Pressure System will generate moderate east-southeasterly winds across the region during the forecast period.
Moisture and instability in the wake of a tropical wave could produce a few showers across the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.
At 5:00 pm today, Tropical Storm Katia was located over the eastern tropical Atlantic. Katia is expected to be a short-lived tropical storm remaining over the open ocean. It does not pose a threat to our region.
A strong tropical wave located just off the west African coast is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next seven days.
