Fair to partly cloudy and hazy, with a few light showers over the Leeward and northern Windward Islands. Further south, partly cloudy to cloudy at times with some scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.
TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Atlantic High Pressure System will continue to generate light to moderate easterly to east-southeasterly winds across the region, during the next few days.
The Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone will continue to affect the southern portion of the region during the forecast period.
At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Depression Thirteen was located near latitude 12.5 North, longitude 40.2 West. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph or 24 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue for the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. The depression is forecast to be a hurricane in a couple of days
and could become a major hurricane by this weekend, and could affect the Leeward Islands during its passage.
A strong tropical wave located over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next seven days.
