Mostly cloudy skies, with scattered light to moderate showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms over the northern Windward and Leeward Islands. Elsewhere, fair to occasionally cloudy skies with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
Light and variable winds will continue across the Lesser Antilles over the next few days. Moisture and instability associated with Hurricane Lee will cause some cloudy periods with scattered showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms over the northern portion of the region during the next 24 hours.

At 5:00 pm today, the eye of Hurricane Lee was located near latitude 16.9 North, longitude 51.3 West or about 780 miles or 1260 kilometres east of the Northern Leeward Islands. Lee is moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph or 24 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue for the next several days with a gradual slowing down in its forward speed.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 130 mph or 215 km/h, with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected tonight and Lee is forecast to remain a powerful hurricane well into next week. Swells generated by Lee are expected to reach portions of the Lesser Antilles on Friday. Interests in the northern Leeward Islands should continue to monitor the progress of Lee.

At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Tropical Storm Margot was located near latitude 16.8 North, longitude 28.3 West. Margot is moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph or 28 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue over the next few days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph or 65 km/h, with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is expected during the next few days, and Margot is expected to become a hurricane over the weekend. Margot is expected to remain over the ocean and pose no threat to our region.
