FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES
Partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with some scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, over the Leeward Islands. Further south, fair to partly cloudy skies with brief isolated showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
Light southeasterly winds will continue across the Lesser Antilles over the next few days.

Moisture and instability associated with Hurricane Lee, will cause some cloudy periods with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Leeward Islands, during the next 24 hours. Swells generated by this system, will cause hazardous sea conditions around these islands during the next few days.

At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Hurricane Lee was located near latitude 22.1 North, longitude 61.7 West or about 285 miles or 455 kilometres north-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands. Lee is moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph or 13 km/h, and a slower motion is expected during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 120 mph or 195 km/h, with higher gusts. On the forecast track, Lee is expected to pass well north of the northern Leeward Islands, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico during the next day or two.
Interests in these areas should continue to monitor the progress of this system.

A tropical wave located over the eastern tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 10 mph or 17 km/h. This system has a low chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next seven (7) days.
