FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with some scattered showers over the Leeward and northern Windward Islands.  Elsewhere, fair to partly cloudy with a few brief showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Light and variable winds will continue across the Lesser Antilles over the next few days.

Weak unstable conditions will cause some showers to develop mainly over the northern portion of the region, during the forecast period.

At 5:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Depression Fifteen was located near latitude 17.9 north, longitude 45.3 west. The system is moving towards the north-northwest near 14 mph or 22 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. The depression is expected to become a tropical storm later today and a hurricane early next week. Currently, it does not pose a direct threat to our region. However, interest in the northern Leeward Islands should monitor the progress of this system.

A tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantis is moving westward near 6 mph or 9 km/h.
