FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Fair to occasionally cloudy, with some scattered showers over the Leeward and northern Windward Islands.  Further south, fair to partly cloudy with brief isolated showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Light and variable winds will continue across the Lesser Antilles over the next few days.

Weak unstable conditions associated with a trough system, will cause some showers to develop mainly over the northern portion of the region, during the forecast period.

At 11:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Depression Fifteen was located near latitude 19.7 north, longitude 46.2 west. The depression is moving towards the north-northwest near 18 mph or 30 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. The system is expected to become a tropical storm later today and a hurricane early next week, but is not expected to pose a threat to our region.

A tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantis is moving westward near 10 mph or 17 km/h.
