FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Fair to occasionally cloudy, with some scattered showers over the Leeward Islands.  Further south, fair to partly cloudy skies.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Light and variable winds will continue across the Lesser Antilles over the next few days.

Unstable conditions associated with a trough system, will cause some showers to develop mainly over the northern portion of the region, during the forecast period.

At 5:00 pm today, the centre of Tropical Depression Fifteen was located near latitude 20.8 north, longitude 47.1 west. The depression is moving towards the north-northwest near 16 mph or 26 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. The system is expected to become a tropical storm later today and a hurricane early next week, and is not expected to pose a threat to our region.

A tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h.
