Unstable conditions in the atmosphere over the Eastern Caribbean, will continue to cause occasional cloudiness, scattered showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms, over the islands during the forecast period.
At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Philippe was located near latitude 16.2 degrees north, longitude 41.7 degrees west. Philippe is moving toward the west near 12 mph or 19 km/h and a motion toward the west or west-northwest is forecast for the next few days. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph or 85 km/h, with higher gusts. Philippe is expected to remain over the open water and poses no direct threat to our region.
A tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h.
