TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

The Atlantic High-Pressure System will continue to generate light to moderate east-southeasterly to easterly winds across the Lesser Antilles, over the next few days. Low level cloud patches drifting along this wind flow will cause a few brief showers over the region during the forecast period.

…Sean weakens to a depression

At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Depression Sean was located near latitude 16.0 degrees north, longitude 44.2 degrees west. Sean is moving toward the northwest near 8 mph or 13 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Additional weakening is anticipated over the weekend.  

An area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 9 mph or 15 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next 48 hours.

Another tropical wave located over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic is also moving westward near 9 mph or 15 km/h.
