TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

The Atlantic High-Pressure System will continue to generate light to moderate east-southeasterly to easterly winds across the Lesser Antilles, over the next few days. Low level cloud patches drifting along this wind flow will cause a few brief showers over the region during the forecast period.

At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Depression Sean was located near latitude 16.5 degrees north, longitude 44.8 degrees west or about 1210 miles or 1950 KM east of the northern Leeward Islands.

Sean is moving toward the northwest near 9 mph or 15 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Additional weakening is anticipated over the weekend.  

An area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 9 mph or 15 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next 48 hours.

Another tropical wave located over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic is also moving westward near 9 mph or 15 km/h.
