TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

The Atlantic High-Pressure System will continue to generate light to moderate easterly winds across the Lesser Antilles over the next few days. Low-level clouds drifting along this wind flow, will cause a few brief showers over the region during the forecast period. At 5:00 am today, the center of Tropical Depression Sean was located near latitude 17.4 degrees north, longitude 46.2 degrees west or about 1110 miles or 1790 kilometers east of the northern Leeward Islands. Sean is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph or 15 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph or 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Additional weakening is anticipated over the weekend and Sean is forecast to dissipate by late Monday.  

An area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 9 mph or 15 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next 48 hours.

Another tropical wave located over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h.
