Paulette is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph or 15 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph or 85 km/h with higher gusts.

At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Rene was located over the central tropical Atlantic near latitude 18.9 degrees north and longitude 36.8 degrees west. Rene is moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph or 19 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph or 85 km/h with higher gusts.
Neither of these two systems are expected to pose a direct threat to the Lesser Antilles.
A tropical wave located just off the west coast of Africa is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h. This wave has a high chance of tropical cyclone development during the next five days.
