A broad area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave, located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles, is moving westward near 6 mph or 9 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone development during the next five days and is expected to be in the vicinity of the northern Leeward Islands during the weekend.

Another tropical wave also associated with a broad area of low pressure, is located off the west coast of Africa. This westward moving system has a medium chance of tropical cyclone development during the next five days.
