At 11:00 am today, the centre of Hurricane Jerry was located near latitude
18.8 North, longitude 60.3 West or about 190 miles or 300 kilometres east
of the northern Leeward Islands. Jerry is moving toward the west-northwest
near 17 mph or 28 km/h. On the forecast track, the centre of Jerry will
move north of the northern Leeward Islands later today, pass well north of
Puerto Rico on Saturday, and be well east-northeast of the southeastern

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 85 mph or 140 km/h with

with some re-strengthening possible early next week.
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles or 30 kilometres from
the centre and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles or
130 km.

A tropical wave located about 700 miles or 1126 kilometres east of the
Windward Islands, is producing a large area of disorganized cloudiness and
showers.  The wave is expected to move quickly westward at about 20 mph
during the next few days, and some development is possible while it
approaches and moves across the Windward Islands this weekend.

A tropical wave located near the west coast of Africa has the potential to develop into a tropical depression or tropical storm early next week as it moves westward across the eastern tropical Atlantic.
