FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Generally cloudy skies with scattered showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms, over the southern Windward Islands and areas further south. Elsewhere, fair to occasionally cloudy skies with a few showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK 

Moisture and instability ahead of an approaching tropical wave will cause an increase in cloudiness, showers and isolated thunderstorms over the southern portion of the Lesser Antilles, during the next 24 hours. This wave is about 500 miles east of the Windward Islands and is expected to move west-northwest near 17 mph or 28 km/h. Some additional development of this disturbance is possible over the next couple of days.

Two other tropical waves located over the central and far eastern Tropical Atlantic are drifting westward near 8 and 12 mph or 13 and 19 mph, respectively.

The alert level at the La Soufriere volcano in Saint Vincent remains at Orange. Interests in Saint Lucia and the South-Eastern Caribbean region are advised to continue monitoring official sources for updates.
