A reduction in low level moisture across the region, will result in generally fair conditions across the island chain.
A tropical wave located over the western Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 14 mph or 22 km/h. This wave is expected to begin affecting the region by Thursday night.
A second tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic is also moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h. There is a low chance of further development of this system, over the next few days.
At 5:00 am today, the center of Tropical storm Fred, was located near latitude 18.0 north, longitude 68.2 west or about 118 miles or 190 kilometres east-southeast of the Dominican Republic. This system is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph or 26 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph or 65 km/h with higher gusts. This system poses no threat to Saint Lucia, and the rest of the Lesser Antilles.
