FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Cloudy to overcast with scattered moderate to heavy showers, gusty winds and thunderstorms over the Leeward Islands. Elsewhere, partly cloudy skies, becoming cloudy at times with scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability associated with Tropical Storm Grace, will cause increased periods of cloudiness, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly over the Leeward Islands, during the next 24 hours.

At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Grace was located near latitude 16.2 North, longitude 57.9 W or about 265 miles or 425 Km east-southeast of the Leeward Islands. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph or 75 km/h, with higher gusts. Grace is moving westward at about 23 mph or 37 km/h. On this forecast track, the center of the storm is forecast to move over the Leeward Islands tonight. A motion toward the west-northwest with a gradual decrease in forward speed is expected during the next several days. Some strengthening is forecast during the next day or so.

Interests in the Leeward Islands should continue to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Grace.

A tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 23 mph or 37 km/h. No significant convection is associated with this wave.
