TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
Moisture and instability ahead of an approaching tropical wave, located a few hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles, will cause some cloudy periods with showers and isolated thunderstorms over our region during the forecast period.
A plume of Saharan dust haze is expected to affect our region from late Saturday, following the passage of this wave.
At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Victor was located near latitude 11.5 degrees north, longitude 33.5 degrees west. Victor is moving towards the west-northwest near 15 mph or 24 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph or 100 km/h, with higher gusts. Victor is expected to remain over the open Atlantic and poses no threat to the Lesser Antilles.
Tropical cyclone formation is not expected over the tropical Atlantic during the next five days.
