TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Moisture and instability over the Eastern Caribbean region, will cause occasional cloudiness, showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours.

A weak tropical wave located over the western tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 9 mph or 15 km/h.

A broad area of low pressure associated with another tropical wave located over the central tropical Atlantic, is moving westward near 15 mph or 24 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone development during the next five days.

A third tropical wave located just off the west coast of Africa, is moving westward near 12 mph or 19 km/h. Some gradual development of this system is possible during the next five days.

Hurricane Earl continues to move slowly northward and away from our region. Maximum sustained winds are near 105 mph or 165 km/h, with higher gusts and Earl is expected to become a major hurricane later today. Hurricane Earl poses no direct threat to our region.
