TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A tropical wave will produce cloudiness, showers thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles, during the forecast period.

At 5:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Storm Bret was located near Latitude 12.2 degrees north, Longitude 48.6 degrees west or about 835 miles or 1350 kilometers east of the Windward Islands. Bret is moving toward the west near 18 mph or 30 km/h and this motion is expected to continue for the next several days. On the forecast track, the center of Bret is expected to move across portions of the Lesser Antilles Thursday afternoon and Thursday night, and then move across the eastern Caribbean Sea on Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph or 75 km/h, with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days. Interests in the Lesser Antilles should monitor the progress of this system. Tropical storm watches may be required for some islands later today or tonight

Another tropical wave located over the eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 13 mph or 20 km/h. This system has a high chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next two days.
