FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Partly cloudy to cloudy with a few showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms over the Leeward and northern Windward Islands.  Elsewhere, fair to partly cloudy with a few light showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Light and variable winds will continue across the Lesser Antilles during the next couple of days.

Moisture and instability associated with an area of low pressure located just east of the Lesser Antilles, will continue to cause cloudiness with a few showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms over the Leeward and northern Windward Islands during the next 24 hours.

A broad area of low pressure located several hundred miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands is moving towards the northwest. This system has a medium chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next seven days.

Two tropical waves are located over the central and eastern tropical Atlantic, respectively.  They are both moving westward near 8 mph or 13 km/h.

At 5:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Storm Franklin was located near latitude 22.8 North, Longitude 65.8 west or about 350 miles or 565 kilometres east-northeast of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Franklin is moving toward the east-northeast near 6 mph or 9 km/h and does not pose a threat to the Lesser Antilles.
