TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
Moisture and instability moving ahead of Tropical Storm Tammy, will cause some cloudy periods with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles, during the forecast period.

At 5:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Storm Tammy was located near latitude 13.7 degrees North, longitude 56.6 degrees West or about 200 miles or 320 kilometers east of Barbados. Tammy is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph or 20 km/h. A turn toward the northwest is forecast on Friday and this motion should continue through Saturday. On the forecast track, the center of Tammy will move near or over the Leeward Islands on Friday and Saturday. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph or 95 km/h, with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is expected to begin on Friday and continue into this weekend. Tammy is forecast to be at or near hurricane intensity when it moves near the Leeward Islands.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Guadeloupe, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat and St Kitts and Nevis. Tropical Storm Watches have been issued for Barbados, Martinique, and the extreme northern Leeward Islands. Interests in the rest of the region are advised to monitor the progress of this system.
