TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A surface trough will continue to cause occasional cloudiness, showers and the possibility of isolated thunderstorms over the Lesser Antilles during the forecast period.

At 5:00 am today, the center of Hurricane Tammy was located near latitude 25.6 degrees north, longitude 60.2 degrees west or about 540 miles or 870 kilometers south-southeast of Bermuda. Tammy is moving toward the northeast near 10 mph or 17 km/h. Maximum sustained winds are near 100 mph or 155 km/h, with higher gusts. Swells generated by Tammy will continue to affect portions of the Leeward Islands during the next couple of days.

Another surface trough located over the central Tropical Atlantic is slowly moving westward.
