FORECAST FOR THE LESSER ANTILLES

Generally cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, over

the extreme southern Windward Islands and areas further south. Elsewhere, partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy and hazy with a few scattered showers.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A tropical wave will continue to cause cloudiness, showers and isolated thunderstorms over the extreme southern portion of the region during the next 24 hours.

The Atlantic High Pressure system will generate moderate to brisk easterly winds across the Eastern Caribbean region during the next couple of days. Low level cloud patches drifting along this wind flow, will cause some scattered showers over the remainder of the region during the forecast period.

Two other tropical waves located over the central and eastern Tropical Atlantic are moving westward near 23 mph or 37 km/h and 15 mph or 24 km/h respectively.

Saharan dust haze will cause a reduction in visibility and air quality around our region during the next few days.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected over the tropical Atlantic during the next 5 days.

The alert level at the La Soufriere volcano in Saint Vincent remains at Orange. Interests in Saint Lucia and the south-eastern Caribbean region are advised to continue monitoring official sources for updates.
