At 11:00 am today, the centre of Tropical Storm Lee was located near latitude 14.1 North, longitude 45.5 West or about 1200 miles or 1930 kilometres east of the northern Leeward Islands. Lee is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph or 22 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue for the next few days with a slight reduction in forward speed. Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph or 110
km/h, with higher gusts. Rapid strengthening is forecast and Lee could become a hurricane later today and a major hurricane in a couple of days. Interests in the northern Leeward Islands should monitor the progress of this system.

A strong tropical wave located over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic is moving westward near 13 mph or 20 km/h. This system has a medium chance of tropical cyclone formation during the next seven days.
