Potential Tropical Cyclone Two continues to move westward away from the Eastern Caribbean region. Lingering moisture and instability in the wake of the system will continue to generate periods of cloudiness, some scattered showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms across the southern portion of the Eastern Caribbean region during the next 24 hours.

Two tropical waves located over the central Tropical Atlantic are moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h and 23 mph or 37 km/h respectively. The waves have a low chance of development over the next five days and are expected to begin affecting the Lesser Antilles from Friday.

The system is moving toward the west near 23 mph (37 km/h). A westward or west-northwestward motion is expected through Thursday. On the forecast track, the system will pass near or over portions of the southern Windward Islands by tonight. Conditions appear conducive for development if the disturbance remains over water.

A severe weather advisory has been issued for Saint Lucia from midnight today Tuesday to 4:00 pm on Wednesday. The system is expected to produce rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches or 25 to 75 millimetres on the island. Tropical storm warnings have been issued for Trinidad and Tobago, and Grenada and its dependencies. Interests in the Windward Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this system.

A tropical wave located about 1200 miles east of the Windward Islands is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This system is forecast to interact with another tropical wave to its east over the next several days, and some gradual development is possible later this week while the overall system moves west-northwestward at around 15 mph across the central tropical Atlantic.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
A tropical wave will continue to generate cloudiness, showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly over the southern Lesser Antilles, during the forecast period.
A strong tropical wave located about 1000 miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands, is moving westward near 17 mph or 28 km/h. Environmental conditions appear conducive for further development and a tropical depression is likely to form during the early to middle part of this week. This system is forecast to approach the Windward Islands on Tuesday and move over the south eastern Caribbean Sea on Wednesday and Thursday. Interest in the Windward Islands should monitor the progress of this system.
